The Great Gatsby Wedding Theme

For those of you who are regular readers of our blog or are students with the UK Academy of Wedding and Event Planning then you will know that we often talk about the fact that the world of special events follows in the footsteps of the fashion industry. As I am sure you all know it was recently New York Fashion Week and as such we were eagerly reading the blogs coming out on the subject to see what trends were starting to form so we could begin to include them within our designs.

Sure enough there were some very strong themes to come out of NY fashion week an done of them was the fabulous Gatsby look. Both Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren closed using the Gatsby Girls as the theme. In fact some of the styles would have looked perfect on the set of a Baz Luhrmann film.

With this in mind we decided that this week’s mood board should reflect some of the great new trends to come out of NY Fashion Week and have created our own Great Gatsby Wedding Mood Board. Granted it will only work with a particular type of bride but what a wonderful era it was. It would be easy to inject some old Hollywood glamour into this theme and Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers would certainly not look out of place.
